Innovative bio-granulate
based on potato starch
Our bio-granulate is a thermoplastic material of 100% biological origin, produced from annually renewable plant resources, free of GMOs. It is designed for injection molding applications.
Bio-granulate is based on potato starch or corn starch modified only by physical means (no chemical modification). The products obtained from it (cutlery, packaging, films) are 100% compostable and biodegradable, as confirmed by studies.
Bio-granulate undergoes 100% actual bio-decomposition after 12 weeks (84 days), and as the proportion of starch in its composition increases, this time is reduced. In addition, products made exclusively from starch biogranulate are fully biodegradable in fresh and salt water and soil, and with mechanical strength they do not differ from standard plastics such as, for example. LDPE.

Studies have also shown that the bio-granulate compositions are compostable. In an aquatic environment, they can become food for living organisms (unlike fully synthetic materials or the presented commercial materials supposedly biodegradable from corn).
Biocompositions of the innovative bio-granulate do not disintegrate with the formation of microplastics, so products made from such a composition are not harmful to the environment, especially the aquatic environment. Bio-granulate can therefore contribute to curbing pollution of the seas and oceans by polymer waste.
The product has hygroscopic properties, so it is supplied in airtight packaging that should be unsealed immediately before use. It is not required to dry the product before processing.
